Fire Training
Our company provides onsite training by qualified staff (SAQCC 1475 registered technicians) to ensure that your personnel are capable to deal with any fire situation, and understand the fire safety procedures for the workplace. Your employees will be able to:
- Identify the type of fire
- Use the correct fire fighting safety equipment including fire extinguishers, hose reels, buckets, and fire blankets
- Follow procedure to contain and extinguish the fire
- Manage a fire emergency scenario
- Experience onsite practical exercises
Common questions
How often must fire equipment be serviced?
Annually. Servicing of fire extinguishers, hose reels and hydrants is compulsory every year. Kyoto Fire Services handles the full annual service so the site stays compliant.
Who is qualified to service fire equipment?
SAQCC registered technicians. Every Kyoto Fire job is carried out by technicians registered with SAQCC Fire, whose registration was renewed for 2026/2027.
What is a fire risk assessment and who needs one?
A formal assessment of the fire risks on a site, written up as a SANS-compliant fire safety report. It is commonly required for Eskom, government and corporate tenders. Kyoto Fire Services documents the risks and provides certified solutions.
What does the on-site fire training cover?
Identifying the type of fire, using the correct equipment including extinguishers, hose reels, buckets and fire blankets, following procedure to contain and extinguish a fire, managing a fire emergency, and practical exercises on site. Training is delivered by SAQCC 1475 registered technicians.
Which standards does the equipment meet?
Extinguishers are certified to SABS 1910, SABS 1322 and SABS 1567, and are built for safe maintenance to SABS 1475 specifications. Hinged fire doors are manufactured to SANS 1253:2003 (edition 3). Detection ranges are EN 54 approved.
